You have to taste this fresh pasta recipe. It’s filling, delicious, and packed with a ridiculous amount of flavor! What is Southern baked spaghetti, you may be asking? It’s a saucy beef and pasta casserole baked into a golden cheese crust with layers of fun underneath!

• Ground Beef—You can use ground turkey for this pasta 🍝 fiesta! Eighty percent will lead you straight to a juicy, meaty sauce. 

• Pasta– this is again your preference. 

• Onions and Bell Peppers– This and the sauce are excellent. 

How To Make High Protein Spaghetti?

  • Cook your pasta until al dente before starting your lean beef. 
  • Add olive oil to a medium-high skillet. 
  • Next, add chopped onions and bell peppers. If you like them a little more crunchy, skip the sautĂ©ing steps.
  • Nice brown drain and air to the side.
  • Prepare your pasta sauce. Mix store-bought pasta with sugar.
  • Begin layering your dish with pasta sauce, meat, spaghetti, and, last but not least, cheese. 
  • Pop into preheated oven of 400 degrees until the top becomes slightly brown.

Tips

Don’t let the pasta dish bake for too long. This will cause the cheese to become stiff and not so easy to enjoy.

Variations/Substitutions 

I always try to the ground beef with turkey meat.

Add a ton of mushrooms and fresh basil.🌿 

Try a million dollar spaghetti and add more cheese, such as gouda. 

If you love things on the spicy side, try adding some red pepper flakes. 

Meatless remove the beef and add in a ton of ricotta cheese.

This is old school, but a nice side salad works perfectly with the pasta. You can get even more bang for your buck by adding more protein, such as salmon or catfish nuggets.

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Spaghetti noodles 16 Once
  • 1 Pound Ground beef
  • Tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tsp Ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 Cup Shredded mozzarella cheese To your liking
  • 1 Cup Sharp shredded cheese
  • 1/2 Medium Sweet Onion Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Bell Pepper Chopped
  • Ricotta Cheese Topping
  • Parmesan Cheese Topping
  • Jar Your favorite store bought pasta.

Instructions

  • To a medium-high heat skillet add olive oil.
    1 Tablespoon Olive oil
  • Add your beef and sautĂ© your meat along with the chopped onions and bell peppers. Begin to cook your pasta simultaneously.
    1 Pound Ground beef, 1/2 Medium Sweet Onion, 1/2 Cup Bell Pepper Chopped, 1 Box Spaghetti noodles
  • Begin adding your seasoning while the meat is undercooked to ensure flavor is locked in. After the beef is browned drain and sit to the side.
    Tbsp Garlic powder, 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning, 1 Tsp Ground black pepper, 1 Cup Shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 Cup Sharp shredded cheese
  • Begin to layer pasta sauce, meat, spaghetti, and cheese. Repeat.
    Jar Your favorite store bought pasta.
  • Place in a preheated oven of 400 degrees until the top is slightly brown. Top with Parmesan cheese and ricotta.
